The Right Bars
Bars come in many different sizes and shapes and materials. The best bars will honestly come down to your personal preferences and there’s no way of really knowing what the best is until you’ve been riding for years upon years. The best advise is, if you know what you like, stick with it.
Handlebar Material
The majority of bars are composed from an alloy mix. This allows for a low weight and durability and compliancy. Bar should flex, but spring to their original position.
Carbon fiber bars have similar properties as aluminum, but because of the characteristics of carbon, it allows the manufacturer to shape these in unique ways while still preserving the strength and flexibility of alloy.
Handlebar Sizing / Shapes

Typically, the bar should be wide enough allowing the rider the option to open their airway and breath relaxed. 

 Measure the width of your shoulders (in cm). This is approximately the width of your bar. 38cm xs, 40cm S, 42cm avg, 44cm L.

 of the bar allows you to ride in a more aggressive position. If you’re racing, make this position your most comfortable.

The top surface of the bar is typically round, some carbon bars are made with a

 flat top surface.

 This may provide a very comfortable resting surface during climbs or leisurely rides.
